Trix is the four-player trick-taking game of the Levant and the Gulf — five completely different contracts, played back to back, where four of them are about losing and only the last one is about winning. Play as four individuals, or in two partnerships sitting opposite each other.

Whoever holds the seven of hearts opens the kingdom and picks all five contracts, one per deal. Then the kingdom passes on, until every player has chosen every contract — twenty deals, and no way to hide a weak hand.

Tarneeb is the partnership game — four players, two fixed teams, partners facing each other across the table. The whole deck is dealt out, thirteen cards each, and then you have to decide out loud how much you think your side can win.

It rewards the same thing a good team always rewards: knowing what your partner is holding without being told. Bid too low and you leave points behind. Bid too high and you hand them to the other side.

طرنيب هي لعبة الشراكة — أربعة لاعبين، فريقان ثابتان، ويجلس كل شريكين متقابلين. تُوزّع أوراق الشدّة كاملة، ثلاث عشرة ورقة لكل لاعب، ثم عليك أن تعلن بصوت عالٍ كم تتوقع أن يكسب فريقك.

اللعبة تكافئ ما يكافئه أي فريق جيد: أن تعرف ما في يد شريكك دون أن يخبرك. إن أعلنت أقل من قدرتك تركت نقاطًا خلفك، وإن بالغت أهديتها للخصم.
